A few weeks ago we celebrated Lucas and Logan's 2nd birthday! I can't believe we have survived 2 years and as I think back, the details are a blur. Nevertheless, we did it. With all of Alayna's birthdays, I have felt a few different emotions. Like everyone else, I assume, I feel proud of who she has become. I feel a bit sad that she is growing up so quickly. I feel blessed to have such a healthy, thriving child. When celebrating Lucas and Logan's birthday, I feel all of those things as well. But I also feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment for Scott and I. I actually even sent him a text on the day of their birthday telling him congratulations on the twins' second birthday! Raising twins is HARD in many ways. It's hard to get any sleep. It's hard to have any adult conversation. It's hard to keep them from beating each other up (and most recently biting each other). It's hard to have any energy at the end of the night after putting them all to bed. It's hard to keep our home stocked with food (it will only get worse, I know). Raising twins is AMAZING in many ways. They entertain and amaze me everyday, like most kids with the connections they make, the new words they say, the songs they sing, the stories they try to tell, their hugs, their kisses and their eagerness to help me with everything (EVERYTHING). I can't believe they are two already. We celebrated with an Elmo theme complete with Dorothy the goldfish! Everyone had fun, but Dorothy only lived a couple days after the party.
