Summer Zoo Visit

We are so blessed to have such a nice zoo in St. Louis. On June 23, Bethany and I decided to take the kids (all 6 of them) for the morning. It went very well mostly due to the fact that Bethany has frequently made this haul and knows all the ins and outs of making the day as successful as possible. Thank God for friends like her:) Braden and Alayna had to walk the whole day while Avery, Lucas and Logan got to ride in the strollers. Kendall had the luxury of both options. Our kids play very well together. The funny thing is, while Alayna and Kendall are only weeks apart in age, it is Braden and Alayna who really stick together. This is not always a good thing. They can be very mischievous together! Maybe it's an "oldest child" thing.
Of course we visited the penguin house first, then we took in as much as possible before any major meltdowns. We saw the sea lion show just before we had our picnic lunch. I caught a very stinky frisbee that the sea lion threw from his fish-gut-smelling-mouth and the kids were very excited about that. I kept the boys happy most of the day by telling them we were getting ready to see the elephants. Unfortunately, they fell asleep in the stroller before we saw them, so I had to take a picture to show them later.

Ice Cream!

This year, for the second summer in a row, I have had the pleasure of staying home on two days a week with the kids. With the boys being another year older, we were able to enjoy many more fun things this year. How do you know it really is summertime? When the ice cream man comes! We were setting up for the neighborhood yard sale when he made his first appearance. Come to think of it, this was the only time the whole summer that we actually saw him! It was a very messy experience that ended with getting sprayed down with the hose, but the kids were so excited. Much more to come about our summer fun...
