Easter

Once Scott and I returned from Puerto Vallarta, it was time to get into Easter mode. We got the outfits, the eggs, the candy, etc. all at the very last minute (usually my style). This year, my nephew's second birthday party fell on the same weekend as Easter so we had two parties in a row. The Easter Bunny even visited the birthday party, which was a total surprise for all of the kids! My kids, however, are not fans. Logan was the only one to get this close and he had a death grip on me and a very forced smile! There may have been bribery involved, I don't remember.

After Gunner's party we went to find some khaki pants (for the next day of course). Finding two pairs in the same size the day before Easter is NOT easy, but we did it! Then we went home to get the baskets ready for the Easter Bunny's visit to our house. Sidenote from Alayna: "When we woke up in the morning we saw eggs everywhere and there were jelly beans in there and we had so much fun opening our presents that the Easter Bunny gave us. It was cool, right mom?"
We woke up early Sunday morning to go to church. Church was, well...let's just take a minute to imagine church with two 2-year-olds...I distinctly remember hearing Scott after church saying, "I hope you enjoyed that boys because that is the last time you will be in church for a long time". After church, we headed to Alton to enjoy a breakfast with my aunt and uncle, all of my cousins and their spouses (10), and all of their kids (10) as well as our close family friends, their kids and spouses (6) and all of their kids (5). It is a lot of people and always fun. Between breakfast and dinner at Daniel and Laura's we hung out at Dad's house and convinced the kids to take a nap, but not before taking pictures!
Getting everyone to look at the camera is just a bonus, at least I see smiles! Logan woke up first, so to keep him entertained and to keep him from waking anyone else, he went out to "drive" everything in Pawpaw's garage. That's a lot of stuff!
Once everyone was awake and Daniel and Laura were ready for us, we headed next door for some food and an Easter egg hunt. The rain stopped just long enough this year! Of course, the kids had lots of fun like they always do playing with Owen and Gunner's toys. During this visit, they were particularly fond of the play grill set with chef's hat and apron!

We enjoyed the company of both of my grandmas and my uncle Jeff and aunt Sue this year. We posed for a few more pictures, ate food, hunted eggs and ate CANDY of course!
